Not all error codes will cause limp mode. P0172 doesnt for one. You also get partial limp mode, but your code reader will indicate if the ECU has put the car in limp mode or not.
alll sorted! they told me the person who had it before u didnt boot the car! caused carbon build up! had the new sensor in! he said now drive it hard lol! well chuffed!

2006 Facelift Fiesta ST In Blue With Side Stripes
My light came on last Sunday! I noticed a loss of power, so I took it to the dealership as it's still under warranty and advised me that the O2 (Hego) sensor was faulty.
They advised the Mountune upgrade was partly to blame!! I thought their comments were a load of c**p! Why would Mountune fit Ford approved upgrades to this vehicle!?!
Anyway all sorted and was completed as a goodwill gesture due to not being covered under warranty. This part is only covered within the first 12 months.
Finally, all Manchester owners don't take your ST to Ford at Sretford, Old Trafford as they dont have a clue what they're talking about.

Mounty (and rest above), GSIDave (MT185) was having a lot of trouble with his sensors giving up, not sure exactly which one, but the outcome was that the one near the manifold (02 Hego ?) was being cooked, so they moved it along further away from the manifold. I'm not techy enough to understand but might help others and yours if it goes again, I have had no trouble.

Thanks... Yeah its weird. My cams never made the light come on, nor did the cossie manifold but then when I had a custom remap and got all the sweet power the car's sensors started moaning lol Oh well I got a genuine front Hego sensor fitted again today and I hope the light will stay OFF!

Keep me posted in that please bud. I think my sensor is gone as well. Did your car have real lumpy idle at cold start, like it was running om 3 cylinders?
I recon you should heat wrap your Sport Cat to stop unburnt fuel getting through causing the number 2 hego sensor, (the one after the cat), reading unburnt fuel.
Is the inside of your tailpipe sooted up/black ? I ask this because when i had my sport cat on my last the engine light was on constantly and the inside of the tailpipe was black; since changing to the original cat, no engine light, and no sooty deposit.

My car is completely "de-catted". What error were you getting? P0172 - Bank 1 too rich. Remember if you decat, you need a mini-cat or Mil elliminator or software to keep the light off.
It came on THAT night I had the official one put in So it's definitely the mods no doubt about it... errrgh I'll let JamSport fix it
doing my nut in on and off on and off... ...To Kev: Yeah I'm going to look into protecting these cables/sensors from too much heat because that's what started this all off. I went on the rolling road and the sensor REALLY didn't like it lol ...To Drifter: My performance is fine mate its just the light goes on and off all the time! I think you need a throttle body clean maybe or cylinder check?
