Wow that is a good price. Is it awkward for you driving a RHD in germany? I was in the UK two weeks ago with my LHD and actually after some miles getting used to it wasn't so bad. I presume that you are probably thinking about taking it back to the UK at some stage. Waiting to see the pictures...

I would imagine that it is a little awkward sitting on the wrong side. Though as you said at the time Nick, if you do anything wrong people won't get annoyed with you they'll see your driving a foreign car and just go "oh well" lol

That's the kind of thinking I was hoping for from the bloody Clamper in London.

You're too nice Chris, you could never work as a clamper. lol

I must own up, no offence to our europeon friends, but I generally find foreign drivers absolute bloody idiots and I certainly dont say "oh well" lol. I treat them to some good old British road rage lol (though Nick, your driving was impeccable)

What this was about was that when we were in Burford(where we had the pub lunch) Nick was wanting to turn around and ended up overtaking a few cars on the left down a pavement so he could do it. We all ended up laughing about how people were just shrugging their shoulders and that you can get away with things if you've got a foreign plate on.

I love driving in the UK on foreign plates ,two fingers up to the speed cameras.I also changed my license to a spainish one,so what are they going to do.Basically nothing until they start doing on the spot fines. They did stop me in the UK once in my MK I Golf GTI,all I got was an explanation of the UK driving regs,Mind I had to do the "no speekee inglish" bit.Suckers.

Chrissussex and Nick02....

In Germany it is a nighmare driving a RHD car! Trust me! Went out earlier and had some road rage with a german dude (and yes europeans are nightmare drivers!!!) I said a few german swear words to him and he looked puzzled so probably pronounced them incorrect! (its funny about knowing a different language..u always seem to remember the swear words and nothing else! LOL!)

The only thing i find really annoying is overtaking as u cant see anything and have to rely on my passenger to say "go"... which is somethimes my 5 yr old daughter! Scary stuff!

Also, coz we live in an estate with all English soldiers etc the Germans will gladly throw themselves in front of your car when they are cycling as the know they will get compensated! They see a British car and think money!!! LOL!

Thanks for the "impeccable" comment Chris(Sussex), Chris(Cumbria) I gorgot about the pavement event... lol

I'd have to agree though about most european driving being performed by bloody idiots. Go to Italy to experience the 100 mph fast lane "train". It's not uncommon to be overtaking in the fast lane and all you can see in your rear-view mirror is the fillings of the driver following you, probably flashing his headlights but you can't even see those as they're below your rear window line... Having said that on our way back from Bourton on the M4 we got caught up behind a lorry overtaking another one and I swear they were side-by-side for at least 6 miles. Formed a line of about 30 cars doing rude signs to both lorry drivers are they finally went past...

Thats really irritating isn't it? Believe it or not I nearly got caught out by a similar thing coming home tonight. I was in the outside lane of a short stretch of dual carriageway when suddenly a tanker decided to pull out not far in front of me and overtake a bus. Well at least I've been reminded how good my brakes are now! Annoyingly he didn't manage to get past and had to pull back in behind the bus anyway!

At the top of the thread you will see a link "Image Uploader". Clicking on it opens a new browser window from which you can upload up to 10 images at once. Once you clicked on the Upload button the page refreshes with some code. Copy the code to the clipboard and paste it to your thread. It sounds comlicated like this but it really is quite easy...

Foreign drivers are all as bad as each other,we get drivers from all over Europe and when on holiday you,re all crap.(Brits included)But as far as European drivers are concerned the Belgiums are by far the worst.Part of the problem is that all countries have a different driving style that you must get used to.Also tourists by defination are on holiday and love dawdling about gawping at everything and then get upset when somebody on there way to work gives them hell.
But if you want really bad driving try South America or the Caribbean,I,ve seen some things that would blow your mind,in these places people think that they are invincable behind the wheel so overtaking on blind corners is the norm,it makes me shiver just to think about it.The amount of head on smashes I,ve seen. The best or worst I saw was four cars in a head on colission ,blind corner two cars overtaking in opposite directions, the cars on the inside won,t give way imagine the reasult.Messy.Over three hours for the first ambulance to arrive.
