I completely understand what your saying. I think the same, I say to all my mates its mugs like that who make insurance go up so high. And I've just done it myself.

It was a national road. And The truth is, no bullshit, I wasn’t going that quick. I recently purchased them black alloys and the guy said they were slippery cheap tyres. I just recently had my car lowered as well.

I have no idea how quick I was going round the bend, All i know is I had been round it quicker. I wasn’t expecting anything like that to happen as I went round it.

Depends on how much I get paid out mate, I’m looking to get a Zetec S now as its the nearest thing to an ST. But we will have to see eh.

Though it doesn't matter what tyres you have fitted (a bad workman blames his tools etc etc) an experienced driver knows that it's slow in fast out on any corner.
That's exactly why young lads have to pay £000's for car insurance and I pay £200. Quite right as well.
Just very lucky someone's kid wasn't on that corner on his bike.

To be honest I’m sick of people blaming young drivers ,

It’s not only insulting to those “young drivers” that can actually drive rather than thinking there the best driver in the world, it’s also one of the most over looked stereo typical things to say . Now im not blaming those who have mentioned it in this post , but just the general tone about the younger generation.
Im 19 so im a “young driver” , but yet iv had both my cars to the track , keep it well maintained and know how to handle it , and how to drive it with in a safe limit without putting anyone else at excessive risk (I mean by that , these are cars , they are in general dangerous things), but driving out of your limits (usually the drivers limits are exceeded before the cars ability to perform are) is stupid. And have you seen the amount of young drivier that are in motorsport and are doing well? Dave Weston , he finished 14th in the ulser rally ,he has just turned 19. .
On the road , care has to be taken as you really can’t tell what the conditions are around a corner.
Statistics show that us “young drivers” do make up a good % of crash figgers , and il put my hands up , imo its down to lack of experience behind the wheel and 99% it is , speed is near the bottom for the cause of a collisions , look at Norway do any of you guys/girls know the test they do ! , 1. It’s cool 2. Its almost, if not at the same level of test/course as an advance driving course is to us over here! , and before you say anything , its working
“There has been a remarkable decrease in the number of fatalities in the 15-24 age group. There has also been a decrease in the >65 and 0-14 age groups. On the other hand, fatalities in the 25-64 age group increased up until 2000, before decreasing over the last few years.”
http://www.internationaltransportforum.org/jtrc/safety/targets/Performance/TS3-Norway.pdf

I think the tests need to be address, if it works in Norway, it will work in the UK , and maybe instead of the police/government just saying young drivers are bad , maybe do something about it!

ive always agreed with my dad who said that learner drivers should be taken out on a skid pan so they can learn how to control the car in extreme situations.

I generally agree with Jack, the driving test should be harder, yes, advanced lessons after so many years, yes, etc etc but the underlying problem in the UK is attitude (UK is full of oiks/chavs/wannabees) and complete lack of road policing. Am sure oin Norway people have a lot more respect for their country, the people and their culture.

Didn't mean to offend Jack , I know its not all young drivers, but I used to think the same when I was 18/19, 'it aint all young driver who are bad!' We're all put into that category of bad young driver and it never goes away just the bad ones making it worse

I cant see that pdf, I aint got adobe atm, but is it anything like Finland? 2 years of leaning (i think) before you can drive and you have to go on skid pans and all sorts of advanced stuff, and agree it should be introduced here
