great job there!

Yes I used the halfords gear as it looked like it done the job well going by the pics on Stu's how to thread.
I used a large (500ml) can of grey plastic primer (was the darkest colour they had). And I used one 500ml and most of a 300ml gloss black, however this done 2 layers. You would easy be able to do it with one 500ml but I splashed out the extra 4 quid for an extra coat. All in with a 500ml clear laquer it came to about £26 so worth doing on a spare afternoon.

Cheers winder how easy is it to take the grills off?

It's a gift mate, 2 minute job. The front fog surrounds and rear diffuser have screws but everything else just pops off. Don't be afraid to give the lower front grill a bit of "gentle persuasion".

Just bought myself some paint primer and lacquer off fleabay, hopefully do it if I'm free at the weekend Does it take long to dry between coats?

If you done 2 coats of each stage I would space it:
1st layer of primer-15 min wait-2nd coat of primer
45 min wait
1st layer of gloss black-15 min wait-2nd layer gloss black
45 min wait
1st layer of laquer-15 min wait-2nd layer of laquer
45 min wait
Fit to car

This is assuming there's some sun to dry it in or you have a warm garage or something.

I'm sure a lot of people will say to leave it over night between layers but you can tell yourself when the paint is dry. Really doesn't take that long.

Yeah you just look like you smashed your car and looks like your fog lights might fall out but it's fine.
