Good day

I need some urgent help please.
I think my car's oil pump packed up, cause if i drive my car and i accelarate than it makes a grrrr sound and sometimes is gone. I am so scared to drive my car now, cause i dont want the engine to cease and the car is useing alot of oil, but i can't see where the oil is going, cause there's no leak.
They qoute me R2340 for a oil pump. Is the price right or could i get it cheaper from another place.

Please advise.

Are you sure its the oil pump mate, if its the oil pump it wouldnt take long to kill the engine, it could be the power steering pump or water pump, get it in to a dealers and find out.

After being driven hard, my Fiesta used to whine from the power steering pump too. I think it's all about the placement of the PAS fluid reservoir being so close to the engine and the PAS fluid overheating.

Some people have relocated their PAS reservoirs, but this may not be the solution to your problem....

+1 I have moved mine to the other side because of my Cosworth Inlet. Never looked back it's good now! ...not near anything hot!

If the oil pump had gone the low oil warning light on the dash would be on whether it has oil in or not.

It's something else probably the headgasket if it's using oil with no leaks.

Does it blow blue smoke from exhaust?
