Bit harsh that vid. Driving on ice, unless you have the proper equipment, is difficult to say the least and whatever strategy you take (wheelspin or low revs) it inevitably makes little difference!

She had the right idea rocking it back and forward! That guy just jumped in once she had melted all the ice with the wheelspin!

Shocking How can you expect to get anywhere just revving the nuts off it. Need to take it nice and easy

just out of interesting hoofing this thread back to view Matty i have just had the same problem today, had to pretty much abandon my car in my street and the ABS light had come on (for first time). Has yours come on since? hoping its just with the spinning / revving / skidding i was doing trying to get up my street.

Cheers

I think with you House, its a bit like when you take the car on a rolling road. The wheels spin but it goes nowhere and for some magical reason the ABS light comes on. It usually turns off fairly quickly though.

It stayed on when i switched my car on and off, but the next day it had cleared! I wouldnt worry, the brakes will work better if the ABS is off in the snow!

My ST is terrible in the snow. It just spins and goes nowhere. Its ok reversing but fwd has little grip. Possbily caused by the Toyo Parada Spec2 i've got on. Maybe I'll try Uniroyal rainsports next time and see if its better.

The width of the tyres is the main issue, it sits on top of the snow rather than pushing through it. Narrow tyres are useful in this weather, as are winter tyres!
