Just seen in Auto Express that the new Polo GTI is due in August. Looks like a mini Golf GTI, has a 1.4 litre turbo and supercharged engine producing 178 bhp. Estimated 0-62 is 6.9 secs! And only 136 g/km of carbon dioxide emission. But it will be 18 Grand!

18k for a polo!...i would rather spend 18k on polos with a hole in the centre!
Saying that you could buy a brand new Focus ST!

18k for a polo is too steep for me. I'd rather put it towards a golf. Or a different car completly

Looks like a Golf?! Now it seems there is so little difference between a Golf and a Polo, why on earth have 2 different models? The Fiesta is going the same way as well ....... looking like a Focus that is ..... not a Golf

It does look nice and apparently it goes like the proverbial s**t off a shovel, but 18k is taking the pee. £16,000 maybe.

If you look at a POLO/Golf price list compared to the current Fiesta/Focus price list you will find the VWs are around £200 cheaper than the equivalent Fords.

Wait till you see the price of the new Fiesta ST.

This POLO GTi package is also going to be the new Skoda Fabia VRS and is also the Seat Ibiza Cupra.

I wouldn't pay 18k for fiesta either!

Sadly the basic price of cars seems to have risen a lot in the last 10 years. Even a basic Focus is pushing towards 20k! So 18k for a polo GTi doesn't seem that much really.
