Right both the RS500 and the Mountune kit will be officially released on 9th April so prices etc will be up then. Initial reports are that the kit will cost £1,995 plus VAT and fitting is looking to be around £200 but that hasnt been finalised yet. It will be offered at MT Towers or a few selected Mountune/RS dealerships who also do the Focus & Fiesta ST kits.

Insurance wise like the Focus & Fiesta kit they are hoping to get an ABI code which should mean its seen as a manufacturer approved kit so additional insurance costs should be low. Greenlight have already agreed to add the kit at no extra cost.

Stuff like suspension upgrades, aftermarket wheels and cat back exhausts will be offered but at a later date.

yeah theyve bin saying 1995 on the rs forum and a possible discount for owners club members but discount only on the labour not the parts, if the mt kit only puts it to 460nm from 440nm is it really worth 2k?!?!?! obvs it will still be rapid but i mean 2k! why have they done all engine work instead of just a remap???

Azz if you read the Q&A session the kit does consist of "a larger intercooler, larger air box, uprated fuel pump, larger bore exhaust downpipe and engine remap." so that is a fair amount of stuff for just £2K imo so it does include a remap.

The Focus ST kit "only" has larger intercooler, a high flow air filter and a remap and thats still £1119.83

Dont forget with this you'll be getting warranty on the parts and with the insurance ABI number it means these mods wont be classed as mods like you going out & buying, for example, a Milltek system.. Greenlight have confirmed they will not charge any extra for this kit.

All of that work, effort and development.. I'd be more than happy to pay £2K
