Hi,

A quick off-shot from the "Engine Pinging" thread. I thought I was having the same issues with my engine making a "clicking noise" - after closer inspection, my problem seems to relate to the Air Conditioning? A clicking, almost kind of a release of air sound coming from the engine bay.

I have taken the to the dealership for a few things this morning (replacement 6006 head unit, dodgy clutch pedal, and the AC problem) They have told me that this is a normal thing that the Fiesta's AC does. I'm not convinced?? My mate has an 05 bog standard Zetec, and he has had no issues with his air con??

Does anyone else have this issue, or even know what the hell I'm on about???
Any quick response's would be appreciated, so I can go back to the dealer either calm, in the knowledge that its a normal issue, or mad at the fact they are trying to pull the wool over my eyes (AGAIN)

Dave, was your car built before the end of February?

If it was I believe that there is a chance that your car could have been fitted with the wrong AC compressor (if I remember correctly they fitted a mondeo one to a certain number of cars). Its not strictly a recall but apparently they will change it if you highlight a problem with it.

Mine is not particularily noisy, you can just make out a slight noise when its turning off.

Incidently, they have had the car since 8:30am and still no word. They are only replaceing the head unit

I get the 'click'/'aire release' noise from my AC. As far as I know this is a normal thing. I didn't have this with my other 2 mk6 fiestas, but i'm not really fussed about it. my car was build midway through february so i don't know whether i have the wrong compressor fitted to my car or not.

Yeah, basically, I was told that its the norm. The quality supervisor even showed me the exact cable that feeds the AC, so I'm quite happy - I can live with that!
