my 55 has done 46k now. i got it at 39k and have always waxed and polished it regulary.

the wheel arches have shed loads of tiny pits and chips, when i say loads i mean hundreds, it looks worse when the car is clean!

(the area in red)

I can only think the previous owner mistreated the car (the glass is also scratched) and the bodykit was packed full of mud and stones.

anyone else have the same problem in the same area? any remedies apart from respraying the rear quarters?

When cleaned and waxed don't forget to get all the excess wax out to make it look better

If is possible I believe to paint them, rub it back and polish it all in but takes alot of skill

Sweet mary mother of jeebus my car looks like its gone through shot blasting its that covered in stone chips lol. My car is used but not abused in a boy racer way so it might not be a sign your car was mistreated, just never cleaned that well hehehe

Other than getting the stone chips touched up (ooer) your other alternative is stuff like paintwork protection films but they are hella expensive.

Its normally caused by people following other cars too close or motorway miles
Possibly they lived up a track which causes alot of stones to be thrown up

Ayesha....shot blasted....reminds me of the film bank job where they cut his foot off with a sand blaster

I dont believe mudflaps would be of any help to where the chips on this car are though

The chips on the rear quarter are where the rear arch stands out, and stones from the front wheels are thrown up and hit, especially if the steering wheel is turned slightly ie going around bends. The flaps will stop alot of it.
