Hi - Here i am again with more problems with my car.

Just wondered if anyone else has had a similar problem.

Been trying to get my ST into the garage for 2 weeks as i've been driving up and down the motorway, 50 miles a day, with the battery warning light on. The earliest they could book it in for was yesterday. When i took it in, the courtesy car that i was promised, wasn't there and the upshot was i either had to book it in again (and i wasn't waiting any longer) or after a lot of complaining, have a ford driver take me to work.

At the end of the day i had the car returned to say that they had to order a new alternator and cables as it needs replacing but to carrying on driving it as normal!!!

Anyone else think this is totally unacceptable in an 8 week old car?

It's a pain, but they are trying to put it right.
What is unacceptable is the 2 week wait to book the car in and still not having a courtesy car available.

I'm inclined to agree with the other two lolly. Yes, its far from acceptable but unfortunately these things often aren't avoidable with many new cars. I've just had my car off the road for the best part of a fortnight myself owing to a warranty problem with the power steering and then it being in the bodyshop for a small dent to be sorted. In both cases (different garages, same franchise), I had to wait some weeks before they could book it in if I wanted a courtesy car and the bodyshop didn't have courtesy cars at all! It was frustrating at the time but at the end of it all there was little real inconvenience to me. I know the level of service differs greatly between garages, which is a shame as it sounds like the service at yours isn't great. I often find though that if one place can't deal with it to your satisfaction then just go elsewhere, you're not obliged to get the car repaired by the dealer you bought it from.

I know that i will get these problems with any car but like yourself the car has been in twice because of problems with body work. Now the alternator and i don't know when its gonna be fixed as they have said to carry on driving it until the parts are avaliable and they can book me. I drive 50 miles a day on the motorway and this is their advice!!!!
There is also more problems starting such as the high revs that others have mentioned and even rust appearing on the inside of the doors.

The other new car that we have, has been perfect - excellent customer service and no problems or issues with it. (It didn't come from the same garage i must add!!!!!)
