Basically Raffe Cosworth will apparently be releasing three different kits at the end of this month for the 2.0 duratec which will be pretty much identical to the already available ones for the 2.3, as shown on their website:

www.cosworth.com/shop_item.php?productid=79

www.cosworth.com/shop_item.php?productid=80

www.cosworth.com/shop_item.php?productid=82

You just add each kit depending on how far you want to go, personally I'd think 240bhp (kit 3) would be a bit much for the std gearbox to take, let alone traction lol. And just look at the price!

Hope this helps

Chris

Thanks for the links Chris

Interesting...

So they are offering similar to the Puma speed conversion with the addition of a revised throttle body and some ECU work...

I agree that the stage 3 may be a bit much...but the first 2 are very very tempting

Just need the brekes sorting and it would be a right little road rocket with that kind of power..

No problemo

I am very tempted by stage 1 and a flexipipe change myself which would be enough for me, stage 1 looks a lot quicker (and cheaper) to install than stage 2.

The flexi pipe basically replaces the CAT doesn't it???

Are there any problems with engine management lights or sensors that can't be connected with this replaced???

The flexipipe is not a CAT replacement, it just removes a 42mm restriction ford have put in the exhaust system (only reason I can think for doing this is to keep power below 150bhp to reduce insurance group). Replacing this is said to increase power in the region of 7-8bhp. I don't think I'd want to remove the CAT, too much hassle comes with this for me!

If it was changed then yes you are right there would probably be an issue with the sensors, but somebody on the 'other site' has made a device to sort the management light problem when the CAT has been removed.

Oh right....I thought it replaced the CAT..

So with this, an intake system potentially a good few horses could be released

Other site?????? Can I be told or not

The level 1 Cosworth kit is soooo tempting, more for the 'Power by Cosworth' badge on the inlet manifold than anything, how sweet does that look?

Add the Milltek exhaust into that mix (with their sports cat) and I reckon the car should be good for near 200bhp.

Yeah that does look well cool, but I think i'd have to get an old style cosworth badge for the rear like the ones they had on the escort cossie, like this one on ebay:

I just wish they'd hurry up and release the parts for the 2.0 Duratec. I certainly don't have the reddies myself to be first in the queue but it'd be good to see someone else do it.

I enquired about this last week and got this reply from Cosworth:

"Thank you for your enquiry regarding our Inlet Manifold. Cosworth is currently working towards releasing a second inlet manifold with longer trumpets, which will be better suited to the 2,0 Duratec. This will be available towards the end of the year and I can confirm that it has been packaged with the ST150 in-mind. It may be better to wait for this than try and package the manifold that is currently available for the 2,3 engine?"

Sounds like it is a little later than planned, but will hopefully be better suited to the electronic throttle body rather than the US Focus/Mondeo mechanical throttle body and air bypass valve.

I think that with the intake manifold, K&N cone filter, Milltek 4-2-1 exhaust manifold + de-cat, 2.3 ETB and a tweak to the ECU this should be putting out an easy 200HP.
