Guys/Girls,

My 1st cry for help on this forum.... It's annual pocket rape time, yep the insurance is due.

After spending in excess of £5.5k on insurance in two years I am (quite rightfully) sick to the back teeth of paying for it.

I am now 19, with 2years NCB, live in the 2nd lowest risk area. Car is unmodified and I have no claims/convictions and still my renewal stands at just under £1500!!!!

I think i've done just about as much shopping around as possible, and it's only the EUI group (Bell, Admiral, Elephant) that are sub £2k.

I'm sure theres a few people on here in the same boat as me, so any suggestions of where might be more reasonable would be greatfully accepted!

Cheers,

Phil

Greenlight Thats who I'm with, expect to pay a big 1st deposit on the 1st month tho, but then you only pay for 9 months and get the last 2 payment free

I forgot this and called them the other day and they told my I have 2 months payment free

it has always been, is, and will always be a rip off. these people are investors who do not care about how much you may benefit or who's real fault it is in a car crash but always see what's cheapest for the company. Hadn't it been that way ever since, most insurance companies would have closed down by now due to bankruptcy

My renewal was about £725 but I managed to get it for £660 with £30 cashback after 120 days from Zurich Connect (10,000 miles on the drive, 8yrs ncb, one theft claim in last 3 years and SP30). They seem to get very mixed reviews so I will change my cover to someone else next year. The average policy has increased by £100 which is why your insurance isn't getting cheaper.

Your premium is probably about right for your age and NCB. I paid £1250 for a 60hp 3yr old clio 1.2 when I was 19 with 0ncb but had 1 years driving experience!

Its no wonder there are so many uninsured drivers in this country!

I'm insured with Admiral. Check out the comparison websites. And I would recommend adding a parent (without claims/convictions) as it does reduce your price!

Just had my Renewal from Ford Insure and they want £380 which I think is crap as I am 38 and have loads of yrs no claims. They some how only recognise 5 and inisit thats the norm in the industry even asked them to match a quote of 313.00 from hastings direct, but they wont.
