As I will soon be going on holiday, I need to buy a camera so that I can get a couple of decent pictures =) Any suggestions anyone. Wouldn't like anything super just ordinary with good quality, budget 100-200 maybe. what do you say?

for 100-200 you will be looking at a very good camera indeed. I mean you can pick up a 5MP camera in Tesco for £30!

I'd go with Sony Cyber Shot cameras as they're excellent quality and easy to use. Look out for the ones with the Carl Zeiss lens! They're very, very good!

You can get something very good for that price.

Make sure it's got an optical zoom on it. It will have a better lens and get you better pics.

Also check what betteries it uses. AA or AAA are better just because if they go flat you can always buy more form the shop. Very few shops stock battery packs.

Make sure you buy a spare memory card aswell. Nothing worse than getting somewhere and realising you have no space left on your card

Also mega pixels aren't everything. A 6mp picture will easily print good pics on A4 paper.

My DSLR is 6mp and is waaaay better than my mums compact 10mp camera

But you can get ones with massive optical zooms and thats a big thing to look out for

was looking off ebay to get some ideas and i got more confuse than ever. same cameras going for different prices(big variance). so i should be on the lookout for some good MPz and a decent optical zoom so as to compare prices. might be able to take some good pics of my fez afterwords as well

If you're after a compact camera for snapshots, check out the Canon Ixus, very portable and great quality.

Don't worry about the number of megapixels, pretty much irrelevant.
