I believe due to the better air flow it burns better or something like that and you get better MPG

+1 i was averaging 32mpg since K&N 57i now getting 35-38mpg.

I had a Pipercross induction kit fitted to my 2.0 focus and had it serviced and on a long eco drive up the motorway i managed to get 54MPG from it so it does help out and sounds good to lol
