Looked at the S3 and the 3.2 DSG but they were ridiculous to insure, even the 3.2 was over twice my RS to insure
Got the clios 172/182 and the newer 197
Supposedly very capable cars
The Corsa VXR is a very quick car with a remap

there plenty of hatchbacks golf GTI, R32, polo gti 1.8t, renault sport 172/182 or 197, cooper S or s work, mazda MPS, alfa 147 gta,S3, bmw 130i, c2 or c4 vts, fiat punto/500 abarth/esse esse, mitsubishi colt rally art,corsa/astra VXR, peugeot 207 gti,seat ibiza/leon fr/cupra,suzuki swift sport, thats about all lol
