Big scoop today guys - thanks to FordFiestaST.com visitors we bring you news of a Fiesta ST prototype that has been testing in Germany. We can't reveal the details of where the Fiesta appeared, but lets just say someone had a camera handy and caught some images before the car disappeared. The car is in silver and features a part-leather blue interior. Our photos are the first ever to show a silver Fiesta ST and also include details never seen before - such as under the bonnet. It's all looking rather good.

My current car is black and it's a nightmare to keep clean. Also the slightest mark shows up big time.

So I would need to view the silver one in the flesh as I have already seen it in red. BTW I really do like that blue trim on the seats.

They are 9 spoke now rather than 11. And the design has changed quite a bit.

EDIT: I actually prefer the new design. The wheels were always my least favorite part of the ST styling.

What happened to the 6 disc-changer stereo as in your brochure scans? So I suppose thats only an option?

I've been asking round and I dont think this spec ST in th epics is the one we will be seeing here in the UK... in other words I think it will have the 11 spoke alloys and other bits... dont quote me on this though.

I suspect some of the bits inside such as the stereo will change from country to country. But I would expect whichever wheel design was chosen would be used globally.

Also it looks like well also have a car with the electronic stability programme aswell, but knowing ford, it will probably be an option and not a standard feature

I think ESP is quite common on new cars in Germany, which accounts for it being in the pictures, you're probably be right about it just being an option here.

ESP is expensive, it'll never be fitted as standard over here and if it is expect the car to be £500+ more expensive.

I wouldn't want it, I hate traction control as it is.

Ford's ESP system is pretty damn good, but I would rather not have it. Better to drive within the limits of the car and conditions.

Hi all the prototype looks great and has made me want one more then ever,but has anyone found out if it is out in october as first thought or still the new year.
I went to my deeler and he said he had no idea,they must be close to a full production model by now ??????????.
P.S.think esp is a good idea if you intend to tune up the bhp.

Are you all getting a bit upset about the lack of info coming out of Ford about the ST, they ask you to register to keep up to date but they have not told us anything since the motorshow.
IF it was not for fordfiestast.com we would be no wiser.
P.S.think the st needs a front lip spoiler like the RS maybe not as big though.

Yes, I am a little suprised at the lack of information. It's also a shame that Ford hasn't given the ST any press appareances yet - i.e. a first drive for a magazine.

Thats right Dave,for a car that is surposed to be out in 10 weeks "give or take a few" they do not seem that intrested in selling it to the public.

I too am very surprised. ABout this time prior to the ST170 appearing I had already got a pre-brochure and I'm sure it had the specs in it. I think it is very odd what they are doing, and the only possible sense I can make of it is that they are still finalising the spec, perhaps fine-tuning some last remaining issues that have an effect on the stats.

My sources tell me it will be properly released at the Paris motorshow along with the new Focus, but won't be arriving at the dealers until the new year.

Personally I think its more down to the fact they dont have the money to market the car, in fact I'd put money on it.... and lets face it although they're not giving out many details between fordfiestast.com, my site, UKFN and others we're all doin a damn good job for Ford marketing the car and keeping people on their toes.

Ok I know that doesnt stop them putting a page up about the spec of the car, but to be honest I dont think they're bothered. as far as they're concerned the info will be out when the car is available... which is a shame in my opinion as we're all potential buyers.

Ford are just taking a different tactic...

They are reserving figures so that it keeps ppl interested. Even though Ford have made no effort to market the car in the papers etc... motorshows have done the job so far and thats such a big market straight away.

They are going to release the car and figures at the same time so ppl dont just look at the figures and then look at something else before test driving or viewing.

Just my opinion...

Seems pretty normal to me.

I can't think off hand of anything else being release in 4 months time that the car magazines have got hold of or has been advertised yet except maybe the new 911 and that's only cos it's virtually out in LHD already so it's available anyway.
