Hey all,

This is my brother in laws Fiat Punto. Lovely little car, he got it by using the scrapage scheme last year. Unfortunately some scumbags decided that they would jump on the bonnet and then run over the rest of the car leaving horrible scratches behind them, some requiring a wetsand/respray

My job over the weekend was to just do what I could for it.

Products Used

- Autosmart Tardis
- Autoglym EGP
- Chemical Guys Orange Degreaser
- Dodojuice BTBM
- Dodojuice Lime Prime
- Meguiars APC
- Meguiars Last Touch
- Menzerna 203s
- Sonus Tyre and Bumper Gel
- Valet Pro Bilberry Wheel Cleaner
- Valet Pro Snowfoam
- Zaino Z18 Claybar
- Zaino Z8

Car before:

Some scratches left by the scum:

Right first up was to give the car a good rinse off:

Wheels with Bilberry:

Tyres scrubbed with APC and my Halfords... scrubber:

Arches with CG Orange Degreaser

Snowfoamed with Valet Pro snowfoam and left to dwell for a few minutes:

Nooks and cranies with a soft brush and APC:

Rinsed and ready to be washed:

Shampoo of choice:

My weapons of choice; Megs Lambswool (upper half), Megs Sheepskin (lower half), MF Sponge (underside):

Mmmm sudsy!

Washing:

Into rinse bucket and then repeat:

Another high pressure rinse:

Scratches more visable:

Claying with Zaino Z18 with Last Touch as lube didn't pull up much:

Last Touch residue blasted off:

Open hose rinsed with 30ppm water filter to leave the following:

Pat dryed with Miracle dryer:

Locked away in the garage and off down the pub for a catch up with a friend:

Next morning and ready for polishing, some very fine swirls can be seen which I was hoping that LP would sort out:

After a couple of passes with LP and Menz 203s on the Das 6 with a white Hex Logic pad:

With camera flash:

Strange readings in some places for a Punto:

Pulled into the sun:

More markings from vandals on the roof:

I hit these with a yellow hex logic pad and LP and Menz 203s, no after I'm afraid as I was running out of time but it touched it up nicely, unfortunately some of this area will most likely require sanding back.

Certainly a great combo!

Polishing all done:

LSP of choice was again AG EGP. Windows with Z8, tyres and plastics with Sonus Tyre and Bumper Gel.

Afters:

Scratches before:

Scratches after:

Thanks for reading if you made it this far!
Comments welcome as always!

Cheers.

Cheers mate. Prices vary quite a bit. Cheapest I do is £45 but I don't really cover a massive area at the moment as this is only a part time thing. Hopefully in the future though!

Do you live near Cardiff? I will pay you earth money to come to my house and clean my car like that. I get 10 minutes into Turtle Wax and get bored.
