Had to use the ST on track at croft after a brand new wheel bearing failed on the bimmer (not before it mullered every Renault there ),, not the best footage but its from a £20 ebay spy cam so i ain't complaining. The ST is totally standard and still put up a decent fight against much more powerful and lighter track cars,, its damn good fun on track.

There was plenty of understeer but the odd bit of oversteer also which is nice, front and rears are dead now LOL, is it the RSOC day on Sunday as a mate of mine is having a ride over.

Croft is a superb circuit i love the place,, enjoy your day there, looks like you have picked perfect weather for it.

Because of a supply problem with the bimmers four pot calipers i am going to have to use the ST for a trackday at oulton park. As i had a few days to get ready i started thinking what good cheap mods i can do just to make the car a little quicker and even more fun on track.

Well of course the most obvious and cheapest mod sprung to mind shed some weight (from the car that is LOL), Don't want to go mad as this is my good car so seats are the easiest thing to remove and replace. I have a spring balance so weighed the bits as i removed them,,

rear seat base = 7kg
large folding rear seat = 13kg
small folding rear seat = 6kg
front passenger seat = 19kg

so a very easy 45kg saved for about 15mins work. Can add spare wheel and jack to the list which should take it to over 50kg saved which will help a little, also means no 90kg passenger slowing me down. LOL

Already have mintex 1144 pads fitted and i find the brakes on the standard ST to be very very good tbh, so without going mad i wonder if i should go for a K&N filter, flexi pipe and maybe a 12.5 rear axle kit.

Or will these mods just be a waste of money.

Depends how much power you want but they are good cheap mods and most people start off with them.

K&N filter, flexi pipe

From what i have read it transforms the car. Maybe not massivly more powerfull but the car feels alot nicer to drive.

The seats are suprisingly heavy. Remembered when i picked mine up when swapping the interior and at the extra weight really did make a difference. More so when i changed them over and went for a drive just with the drivers seat

You'll be very pleasantly suprised for £200 of mods!!!

All packed and ready for a trip to oulton tomorrow,, things did not quite go to plan today so the car is still standard, apart from all the seats being removed that is.

Have removed my in car camera kit from the BM so hopefully get a bit of decent footage this time. There seems to be a lot of fast cars booked up for this including a couple of E46 M3s with superchargers, might be watching the mirrors a lot. LOL

Just need it to stay dry now and it should be a damn good day.

I've got the Milltek flexi and the K&N, and its a totally different drive. Its fantastic. Adds a little grumble to your exhaust tone, it improved my highway consumption, and my 3rd gear is awesome! HA ha.

Mine has leather front heated seats,, passenger seat weighed 19kg though for obvious reasons i decided to leave the drivers seat in. LOL

Tbh i wish i had done the flexi pipe and filter as a little extra power would have been welcome,, and a nice induction noise would improve the videos.

Went to oulton and had a fantastic day in the fiesta,, was mostly out gunned by far more powerful cars but still managed to find a few targets to chase. Bit of footage chasing a bmw 328i and then an E30 race car, just to round the session off nicely i managed to get passed a Clio 197 track car which made my day. LOL.

oulton park video.

Those Atoms are insanely quick, got a nice bit of footage of it at the beginning of this video when he has it sideways out of a chicane and disappears at warp factor 9. LOL

Had a session chasing some of the other guys from trackaction, Phil in a quick MR2, Mike in a stripped tuned and slick shod pug 205 and Neal in the 328i,pretty much on the limit trying to keep them in sight.

Just found a few pics from the croft track day, and a couple of pics of the trackaction cars.

Was a damn good day and i would recommend a croft trackday in a fiesta ST to anyone,, of to bedford GT next but hopefully in the bimmer this time.
