Yup, looks as tho im in the same boat, mines got new bootrom and on 4.0.

Read that O2 are allowing you to unlock iphone's , so i filled out a form online an put his mobile number and im hoping that it will do it, if it hasnt done it in a week or so or i hear off him , then il buy an O2 sim, top it up £15 then they can unlock it for £15.

Mine got rejected twice, so put my mates o2 sim in for 24hours, just done another request and should hopefully get it accepted

You guys should of waited!!! The spirit jailbreak is about to be released in the next few days which jailbreaks all iphone 2g's, 3g's, 3gs' and iphone 4g's and it works with the new bootrom too!

And tbh I'm not even bothered about it being jailbroken I just want to be able to use it

i bought an O2 Simcard yday, made some calls, sent loads of text to my other phone and filled in that form online, hoping this will work, if not i might have to resort to jailbreaking it... my last resort.

Adam, when u unlocked it , and u went on iTunes etc, did you use ur account to do it?

As i read on this O2 forum that it had to be the original iTunes account that unlocks it?!?

i got the text to my orange sim this morning that that one failed (which would obvs) good news about yours tho mate.

gonna text the guy and see if he has had any texts through saying it failed or ok to unlock now.

My mate got an email saying it was now unlocked, i had to put a non-o2 sim it and plug it into the comp

Phew, thats great news, was worried i was going to have to get the guy i bought it off to unlock it!!!!!

i'll try it tonight and see if it works when i plug it in, i filled various forms in on saturday so. fingers crossed.
