I'm assuming this is not just a championship by championship game then, you actually have to start off with the slower teams and work your way through I assume by creating your own driver?
You can start off in a lowly team and do the whole championship and make decisions about updates to the car and when development stops to work on next years car. They say you can go from the back to a top team in 6-7 seasons if you're good. Sounds like an interesting challenge.
You can also just race for anyone else but if you drive for a big team you're expected to win races. If you don't they'll start to suggest the sack or your team mate will get updates before you do.
Quote: does anyone know how long the races will be in career mode? Surely not full on GP style are they with 70 odd laps?
The manual says The shortest default race distance within Career Mode is 20% of the total race distance; alternatively the race distance can be set between 10% and 100% of the real world race length, the number of laps varying depending upon the length of the circuit selected.
