So basically i have a Ford Fiesta Zetec, and i want an AUX input like what the st has next to the lighter and gear stick, so i can play songs from my iphone. Earlier i was researching how i could do it because im absolutely clueless when i comes to this sort of stuff. This is what my interior look's like Obviously the AUX input is the other side of the gear stick, but i couldn't find a different picture, Hopefully somebody can help me out, Cheers in advance, George. ![](/images/graemlins/buttrock.gif)

you can either order a kit from ford or connects 2 through halfords. i believe it plugs into the "quadlock" stereo loom on the back end of the standard stereo. think the connects 2 kit will leave the aux point in the glove box. preety much just plug and play really. the ford kit would require drilling the centre console if you wanted it by the gear stick

Put it in the glove box to make your life easier, I am thinking of moving my AUX there along with a power supply.

I did this, it's a piece of piss. Disonnect battery. Take the radio out with some keys (ebay, £3 from Hong Kong). There's a white thing connected to the back. Unplug it (it was stiff, get some needlenose pliers to grip it and yank. Plug your new white connector thing in where it came out. Feed the wire down the hole where the radio came, and poke it downwards.
Unscrew the gearknob, then use a spoon/butter knife to ease the circle thing around the bottom of the gear gaitor off (the black bit, not the silver). Your gearstick is now just a pole.
Get a drill with the size hole you need and drill through next to the charger thing. You can feel underneath through the gear hole and it is empty, so you won't hit anything, just don't do it too close to the gear gaitor circle thing you took off.
Work the wire down behind the radio until it eventually pokes out at the back where you can see in the gear hole. Some people take the side panels off by your feet - this is a bitch to do, dont' bother, and the screws will break. it took about 10 minutes of wiggling but it came down in the end.
Grab the end, pull it through. The wire comes with an aux socket, stick that through your drill hole and it will click in place (you get 1 shot at this, it won't come back out). Connect the end of the wire into the bottom of teh aux socket. Reassemble your car. Reattach the battery.

I'm having one fitted this week by Kempster Ford in Heywood, Lancashire. They're charging half an hours labour. I'd fit it myself but, I currently have ![](/images/graemlins/mistake.gif) no spare time at present! Should get parts and labour for £45-£50. Can't wait to listen to my iphone. Keep us posted on how you get on with the fitting. ![](/images/graemlins/thumbs.gif)
