hi people i recently bought an 05 fiesta st with pumaspeed st180 kit i have noticed a knocking sound coming from the engine it gets faster as the revs increase does any1 know what this could be im realy worried its something serious im realy hoping its something easy and cheap to fix? thanks

Its hard to diagnose without hearing it, but it could be something simple like belt tensioner or alternater bearing get it checked out at a garage before you fear the worst.

how recent as i would take it back to the dealer

i didnt buy it off a dealer i bought it private a couple of months ago it only started knocking yesterday my mate is a bmw technician he is going to have a look on saturday il let you guys know what it is incase you ever come accross the problem cuz its not a nice feeling the first time you hear it.lol i hope its not serious there is only 30,000 miles on the car.

i just started the car again there the knock only comes when the car is hot you cant hear it when the engines cold it seems to be coming from the back of the engine anyone any ideas? thanks

Simple fix.

do i need to replace the manifold or do you think it is knocking off something has any1 experienced this problem? what is the best way to fix? thanks

It depends. Do you have an aftermarket manifold?

Has the car been fitted with a different flexi, Cat Back etc.

If this is the case, i recon your manifold is simply knocking on something:-
Bulkhead or heat shield.
