Louise Cook, British Female Rally Driver from Maidstone in Kent took on her wildest challenge this weekend at Eagle Heights Wildlife Park in Eynsford, Kent.
Louise has proven speed and is laying an incredible 6th place from of 27 in the British Rally Championship Challenge in what is only her first season in rallying. Louise is the only female in the championship and in addition to currently ranking 6th she is also laying 3rd place Junior Driver.
Louise celebrated her success by taking on the fastest of the animal kingdom. These included a Marshall Eagle, a Peregrine Falcon and the fastest land animal, the Cheetah.
It was one of the Louise’s closest challenges yet and with just 0.2 seconds separating the top spots made the event a real photo finish.
The cheetah Boumani set a staggering 7.8 seconds time over the 150m track taking Celebration of Speed Gold Medal. Louise came in just 0.2 seconds behind the Cheetah with 8.0 seconds.
“I am surprised we got as close as we did. We had to run the car uphill opposite to Boumani for safety reasons, so 0.2 seconds is a fantastic result. The cheetah claws are really effective and on the slippy grass the rally car wheel spins whilst the Cheetah is just gone.”
In third place came the peregrine Falcon with 8.4 seconds, in fourth the loveable greyhounds took a leisurely 11.3 seconds and the Eagle decided to take a more artistic route to the finish setting a time of 18.3 seconds.
“It was a fantastic day and Eagle Heights raised some good support for the Cheetah Conservation so a big success and I think everyone had a great time.”
In the meantime Louise will be using some of her new friends skills and doing some hunting of her own. Louise is struggling to raise enough funds for the final round so will be on the prowl for any local business who would like to support her through her Promotion 50 campaign.
Louise will be contesting the final round of the British Rally Championship Challenge in just three weeks time on September the 24th in the high speed forest of Northern Yorkshire on the Trackrod Rally based in sunny Scarborough.

“It was a fantastic and memorable challenge that maybe we can repeat next year with a quicker car.
It’s back to the grind stone now to try and raise enough support to compete in Yorkshire.
I know we could have a good result up there and for the championship if I can raise the funds needed. So wish me luck”
