It's in the right place don't worry I say about 200hp! Turbo 2L Duratec, make it a Clio V6 beater. Set the LSD up on British Roads Styling looks stunning as it is already, maybe have some tinted Lights. And yes, don't make it heavy! CheeRS

The weight thing is a very good point... I always thought my Focus RS was a bit on the heavy side, and my ST220 is a bit of a fat lump...
I would tend to disagree on the LSD... I think to get proper handling out of a FWD chassis you need to be able to tighten your line with the throttle... and an LSD is the only way to do it. With RWD and most AWD systems use of throttle mid corner will push the car towards oversteer, allowing you to tighten your line.

Dave, we don't disagree on the ATB, I just reccon they must work more on its performance over "common" back-roads.
May I add:
1) A close ratio 6-speed gearbox. Imagine something like the SportKa's with a longer final drive and a overdrive 6th. 2) The front headlights from the Rallye Concept. Yummy!

I quite like the idea of a close ratio box, but I guess with turbo power tall gearing is more suitable? 6 speeds would be nice!
The RS was OK on UK roads, it was just very stiff... which meant dodgy surfaces it struggled for traction and grip.

Yeah! We're only talking REALLY bad roads like country tracks or bad B-Roads etc. Most of the time it was fine... and fast cars where you just point and shoot are boring... you want a bit of a handful!

Some people complain about the roadholding of the FRS, so I think what would they make of the 2wd Sierra Sapphire Cosworth if it was released now? The immediate defense is that it's over a decade old, technology has moved on etc..etc.. And yet, in the same sentances usually they will compare it to a Cosworth. Odd.
Anyway, back to the thread:
I would like to see a torq'y hatch with impressive straight line speed (not too frantic) a comfy cruising motorway pace, but well balanced enough to be a B-road terrorist and demand respect (or ability!) from the driver when the throttle is opened up.
Oh, and wheelspin in 3rd. (only kidding!)

I want one of these and have placed my interest with my local dealer I'm now £200 lighter and can't wait for the day I get mine
I'd love it to have a Turbo like the Focus RS and a CLio V6 contender would be fantastic!!!

How big is the dealer with placed your deposit with mate?
The reason we all get so worried when people say they have placed their deposit is that basically they haven't as it doesn't put you onto any list recognised by Ford. The reason being is that your agreeement is with the dealer (a franchised company) and not Ford Motor Company. From your point of view you should be at the top of the dealers list of the cars that may get allocated to them, but even that may not be the case.
Other problems may arise if they go bust in the meantime or Ford don't supply them with any cars (if they were to bring back the RS dealer for example).
Like I've said on other threads on this topic, I'm not trying to scare you or anyone else, I just want to be sure that people know exactly where they stand.
Of course, all this said - if you have a good dealer they might well be banging on Fords door demanding the car for you, and you could be sat in one of the first ST's!

The dealership is dagenham motors Gillingham (or are they all called dagenham motors?)
Also I was under the impression that Ford were only going to make the car if enough people were interested so I paid me money and if I can get one of the 1st one's I'll be even happier

1, i hope they dont make the rs to heavy
2, fwd isnt bad but 4wd would be a lot better, but that needs more altering to sub frame etc.
3, a turbo in it would be awesome (but not nescesary)
4, 6 gears means -> SHIFTING FUN!!!!
5, as long as they keep the same suspension as normal fiesta its [censored] great. (lowered mine with 5cm) hard as hell but it wont go sideways in a turn

I think you will be pleased... it's likely to be reasonably light, a turbo hasn't been ruled out and a 6 speed gearbox wouldn't be too hard to do. The suspension will be an improved version of the standard Fiesta setup, so it should be the best handling hot hatch ever!!

I'd definately agree with that one, I feel the headlights on the Mk6 are its major let down and the Rallye Concept ones make all the difference!

I have to agree a stripped out light weight car is the way to go.
What about a cosworth tuned 1.6 Turbo like the Jnr WRC Fiesta? 220bhp revving up to 9000 rpm through the front wheels with a LSD? Might need launch control to handle that power off the line. It has got to have front fogs and the Rallye Concept head lamps. I would like a fast ford with a 6 speed paddle shift gear box, could make it a bit expensive though. Might be better leaving that for the focus cossie.
