For those with a 1.25 fiesta...consider a mk1 focus 1.6....apparently its cheaper for me to insure that than the fiesta!!

And more expensive for ST170 than RS

yeah its wierd, i insurance for the ST is £990 (2007 was almost £8.5k when brought last year)

prev motor was a 2004 1.1 saxo worth £2.5k - insurance was £780 on my dads insurance, on my own it was £1.5-2k!! WTF

insurance = GAY!

oh and actually a Type R i had for a bit was only £1200 insuance and thats group 17! so i can insure a group 17 type r on my own cheaper than i can a 1.1 saxo on my own???!!!! yeah good 1!! lol

might be different for under 21's, but it was only £1200 with admiral which i thought was quite good considering the ST is a group 13 and i pay around a grand for that.

My insurance on my 1.6 is €540 a year, so like £444. Its not fully comp its the middle one, guess its called 3rd party fire & theft in the uk.
Also I'm 26 (only had my license 2 years tho, dont ask, and the fiesta is my first car, got it like 3 months ago) without any no claims.

What it covers is: (literal translation from google)

Limited hull coverage
Damage caused by storm covered the hull limited coverage

The hull limited coverage can be completed in addition to the liability coverage. Roughly it can be argued that the limited hull coverage damage to his car reimburse to the extent not caused by collision, collide, hit the road, etc. Coverage includes:

* Fire, explosion, short circuit, auto-ignition, lightning;
* Theft, embezzlement, joyriding;
* Broken windows, including damage by shrapnel;
* Storm, flood, avalanche, landslide or other natural disaster;
* Collision with birds, stray animals or overhanging game;
* Riots / disturbances;
* Aircraft and articles therefrom cases;
* Transportation by boat or train other than scratches, scratches and paint damage;
* Transportation of the wounded;
* Costs of monitoring, storage and transport;
* Contribution in general average.

Is that the same as fire and theft in the uk?

Can't find anything cheaper to insure than a 1.6 focus
Even a mk3 1.1 fiesta is £150 more!!

I bet you it's because the focus with that engine is bought and used by loads of families, so they don't regularly put them into trees like 17 year olds in their 1.1 fiesta's

Yeah the insurance in the UK is stupidly high at the moment. It's probably the only thing I like about France and that is their insurance system. You insurance the car, not the person

STLuke, once you hit 25, you'll see your insurance drop like crazy!
