How do you get them off?

I undid the two bolts and from my understanding there are two clip type bits holding them on.

I prised the top one away from the car and even got in behind the second one and got it away from the car but I still cannot get them off!

There seems to be something else holding them on and I didn't want to snap anything!

There is a wing nut or screw in the boot I think mate

Couldn't see anything

I see the connection and the bulb thing but that's it

Facelifft or not?

my facelift rear lights just pull off, they have similar clips to the sideskirts

Yeah the facelift ones just pull, but mine were very difficult and needed persuasion!

there is a nut on the inside its under the carpet and hard to get to! have a feel around and you will find it

The bit of carpet is tucked in a corner, high up on the rear just behind the bottom of the lights. As Dan says, if you feel about you'll find the flap, and once you've pushed it open you'll find the nut right behind. Rather helpfully Ford didn't think to bother mentionning this nut in the manual and I myself only found out about this on here when I also thought I was going to snap something!

I thought there was like a plastic cover around the bottom bit though? (in the boot)

It did make me laugh though I had two jobs to do last night which was to change the rear lights and maybe fit HID's. I thought I would get the rear lights out the way in 5 mins or so then try and tackle the HID's.

In the end I spent about 30 mins trying to remove the rear light haha! Fitted HID's with no problem and I thought that was going to be the tricky one lol.
