You should have a restore CD when you bought your computer.
Using this will reset everything to when you bought your computer.

If you havent got this you will need an Operating System CD. You would have to format the hard-disk which deletes everything, then install the Operating System on the blank hard-disk.

Do you have either of those CD's?

Im presumming you bought it from a computer shop?

A Restore CD is what you should of got when you bought the computer. It will say it on only use for Dell or something similar.

A recovery CD is just using a Windows OS cd then using the recovery console.

The first one is legal as it came with the computer.

If your saying you dont have the OS cd you would have to buy one from the shop which is quite expensive.

if you install with Windows 7 it shouls recognise quite a lot of drivers. To clear everything you need a copy of windows or your restore CD.

Format your hard drives using the boot CD's or just format in windows then install windows by booting with the CD in.

Failing that search the net for what hardware you have and find the drivers for it.

Right, so number 2 does it say something like Windows XP restore CD?

You might need the 1st one but the 2nd CD should be fine as it is just an image of the computer when you first bought it.

That doesnt really make sense to me.
Can you try putting it in the computer you are using now and seeing what options the cd has.

Would charge you way over the top for something easily done yourself.
I have even got a link ready for you to print with instructions on it when you find the right cd.

If you are being charged the max you should pay would be £10-£20 for it.

With the Cd, do you know where to find the 'My Computer' section?
Should be on the desktop, or when you press start and a list appears.

You need to find out what is on the CD number 2 you found earlier.
