Hey everyone, My name is Lawrence, I am 22 and live near Southampton. I have just got a new job, a far better paid job and am going to treat myself to a newer car. I currently own a black corsa c sxi. It’s pretty nice and not bad for a 1.2 but i like the look of fiesta st's. I have been driving since 17, only owned 2 cars (first one was a corsa b). I imagine fiesta sts are great fun and quick. I have already done insurance quotes, it’s around the 620 mark, does this sound reasonable?
I have never driven a st, so I would do that before buying one. I am looking to spend around 6k, maybe a little more if needed - for 6k you can get one with 45thosound miles, for 7k you can get one below 30. I am just wondering if you guys could give me some tips on what to look for or what not to look for. Should i be looking for a model that came with sat nav? bluetooth? etc. I have no idea if any of these features are worth opting for or whether or not just to go for a cheaper standard one. I’m also thinking a black one would be nice, i like black cars.
Any advice would be appreciated, and if i do get one, this looks like a nice place to chat. Thanks.

Hi welcome to the forum.
Im saving for an st myself i really want a white one. . i too have changed jobs. Im 18 but i wont be able to afford one until im 19 in november. ive done an insurance quote being 19 and one years no claims(fingers crossed dont crash between now an February) it came out at £1600.
How many no claims do you have?
It would be good to see my insurance come down to around 600 when im 22
As far as optional extras are concerned.Personally im not too bothered. I have a sat nav and i dont really need to use my phone when im driving so bluetooth doesnt capture my attention either.
I think its just down to personal preference to be honest.
Welcome again to the forum. Only joined a few days ago and they are a good bunch on here

Thanks Luc, when I was 17 I was a named driver on mums insurance, so I have been driving for 5 years without crashing and I have 2 years no claims bonus (this is my third year on my own quote). I believe on my 1.2 corsa my insurance was around 350 mark, so I think 620 does seem ok for a 2.0 st. I am probably not going to save, I will get a bank loan of around 6k or 4k depending on how fast I could sell my current car. All I want to know is that the new job is going to be stable before I get the loan payments of around 200 a month for a nicer car for 2 years - I can live with that easily lol. And thanks for your opinion on the extra features, I really would like to know what people think. For example, if you have heated seats in your fiesta, is it worth getting?

Oh, thats good to know about the insurance then Any one know a rough price people have been paying for there ST's? Im sure i could get a cheaper one than 6k but that seems a good target. I will have a look through "the lot section" too, although i imagine most people live quite a way away.
