From the standard Visteon or Sony head unit?

Bearing in mind that these head units are not designed for an external amp no matter what connectors halfords fobbed you off with.

The revs coming through the speakers is down to a bad earth and that's me assuming they are connected to the amp but seeing as your sub must be connected to the amp and your getting 2 different problems with outputs then only god knows himself what's wrong.

The reason your sub is not switching off is because your head unit is not telling it to switch off. You have power to it obviously so it's down to the remote wire at the back of the head unit. Possible connected to the wrong wire.

This will not solve your problem.

did you check the earth connection?

Usually you earth it to the car body work, make sure it is sanded down well, a bad connection could make some noise....

I bought a ground loop isolator today and fitted it and it stopped the noises but it also stopped the sound going to the system so that wasnt much good but good shout, but does it need to be attached to the amp or headunit adam?, and alex os it on the remote wite or 12v wire

never used 1 myself but looked into them as i had same problem when i had my sub hooked up to standard cd player. i just assumed the rca lead plugged into it and it eliminated any interference?

ah i see mate, but it did cut the interference but only let a tiny tiny bit of sound through, might be because it has to be plugged into the head unit

The permanent feed from the battery will be carrying high amperes, thats your interference (the perm sound you can hear, and your revs)

To get the best out of it, run the permanent feed down along side the passenger door and the phono leads and remote wire together down the center of the car.

You say that you have earthed the amp at the seats, if its bolted to where i imagine it is, this is not a very good place, you need a solid connection to the car chassis. the hinges on the seats are not a solid connection.

The best place i can think of is where the spare wheel sits, the screw that holds it all in place, there are two other holes near bye, maybe m6 or m8 size, that would be your best bet.

Then check your Remote wire is not damaged and is connected properly, oh the top of my head the remote cable is normally blue and white.

Yeah needs to be plugged into headunit then run rca from it to the amp.
Iv got my earth on the boot lock could try this or like kozi said the spare wheel
well. I think tbh cus its the standard headunit and your using high pass filter to rca
conversion that you will always have some interferrence as its not a designated rca
pre out.
