I keep reading posts about people modding their cars for performance and style but what about the clutch and gearbox?

If you have your ST tuned to push out more BHP surely you have to change the clutch too???

Has anyone done this?

Or has anyone done this without even modding the car and noticed a difference?

Gearbox seems to be ok, I think that Kaxe has the standard on with 299bhp. Clutch started slipping at that power so he got a new one

id say your safe with standard upto around the 200 mark but after that, the clutch and diff will need doing. as for the gearbox, i believe the st uses a box that is also found on more powerful cars and can handle it. Is it the IB5 anyone??

Cheerz fellaz! Is it worth changing the clutch if you aint pushing a lot of BHP and would you notice a difference?

I dont want to put my ST over 200bhp maybe just 180 so will it need changing after a while or will the clutch cope??

Remember Mountune are going to be hitting 200 with their new kit and they're not changing the gearbox

ive heard the gear box is actually is the weak point of the ST? Im not planning on increasing my BHP but i still want to get a quaife diff fitted as from reading about people who have done it, its a massive improvement on the standard box

Diff is the weak point from what I've heard, Quaife is a great mod!

Dont do any mods for a whole year and just save for the diff, honestly you wont be let down once its fitted

I reckon I could have the cash by august to get a quaife and while I'm at it change the clutch and master slave cylinder. I'm gonna get jamsport to do it for me

i have 300+ hp and i am afraid of the gear box maybe to fail.it is the torque that cause the problem.I am looking for other solutions.
As for clutch i use a helix one.it s heavy!!

this is expensive
