After a reading a few reviews the general concensous (sp) is that Boss Audio is crap

I have had "VIBE" subs in the past and loved them, plus they do look the nuts!!!

Buy the best you can afford mate

It's not a question of affording, but I don't want to spend too much, so it's getting a happy middle where I'm not just buying crap, almost decided now

It's not the thump I'm after, i like listening to music so just want to make it sound a little better, will post up later on my phone atm

So would I actually get any benefit from amping the speakers as the power output is about the same

BTW I haven't upgraded the speakers yet but will try and get hold of some 5x7 pheonix golds as they sounded really good in the fiesta, kinda gutted I didn't take them out now

CD player should be excellent, the high pass filters are awesome on Pioneer.

The amp with 50w output is RMS - so this is probably more than your headunit as the 50w stated on headunit is MAX power - usually around half, so I'd guess at 25w RMS.

Therefore you would / could benefit from the amplifier, as long as the speakers you are getting require around 50w RMS input!

The Vibe active sub looks a great buy if you want to keep it fairly cheap - the JBL amp bass control is good, but probably not needed if you are using Pioneer's high pass filter....

You do get what you pay for generally, but as you said you just want the bass there, not necessarily blowing your chest off... the Vibe should do you fine...as I say, that is very cheap for a decent brand sub and amp package....

The CD player has no cd hole
