Just emailed the team torquesteer guy and he said the focus one's dont fit the fez because the fez needs brackets on the rear to bring them in line with the rear bumper?

Yeah they do. If you look the arch doesn't sit flush with the edge. You could always try making some brackets to get them to fit. If I remember I'll get a picture for you tomorrow

When you fit the mudflaps on the fiesta you have to drill into the plastic arch 'lining' to make holes for the screws. The problem with the rear is that the arch lining is further back than the actual arch. This shows a picture of the brackets. The bits that stick out are bent over twice to form a U shape so that when fitted the mudflaps are 'pushed out' and sit in line with the outer arch. A pretty poor description, I'll get that picture for you tomorrow and it'll all make sense

haha bodge. classic english word

yeah i understand what you mean- so if you attached the splash guards or mudflaps to the lining on the back arches they wouldnt attach because the wheel arch would be in the way. Whereas the brackets effectively extend the lining to be in line with the edge of the wheel arch.

So surely if i bought the focus splash guards and a set of brackets for the back they would just fit on as the mudguards would?
Do you just drill through the lining to attach them? or are there preset holes as for where they are supposed to go?

Sweeeet my description wasn't that crap Yeah you're spot on about the brackets Yes I imagine that there would be a way of combining brackets and focus splash guards but as I haven't done it you'd be on your own trying to fit them.
Yep I just drilled through the plastic lining. The mudflaps already had holes so I held it up to get the height right, marked it and drilled. Be aware though, if you're planning on lowering fit them after the springs as they will be too low otherwise. I had to readjust mine

It may depend where the holes on the splash guard line up with the holes on the brackets. Need to see how the brackets fit on the car.

If you do try a bodge make sure any drilling/bodging is done to the brackets. That way you won't have lots of holes in the guards which is the bit you'll see

To be honest I cant see any of mine apart from the bit that hangs down at the back, the car is too low

haha yeah good point!
not gonna lower mine as much as yours Duncan, but do intend to lower it so cheers for that- i'll wait until after - dont really want loads of holes in the lining lol

Micky yeah thats a great idea- wouldn't have thought of that so would have just drilled the crap out of the guards haha
