Thomas and myself are planning on drivng over from Belgium and Holland for FITP this year. We've been having a bit of a think and have come up with some preliminary ideas.

Saturday 14th May get the chunnel or ferry with departure at about midday.
We are thinking of heading to Northampton, that way we can have a bit of a convoy to FITP the next day. (also we expect Northampton will be able to offer more on Saturday than Huntingdon)
We are also thinking of having a mini-meet on the Saturday with anyone in the area who is available.
Monday I will probably head up north to Durham (visit my brother) and spend some time there and Thomas is hoping to get to JamSport before heading home.

It will be great to see you guys on Sunday and hopefully some on Saturday too.

If anyone can recommend anything else or anyone is available for a mini-meet, let us know.

Hey Stevie. That would be a great idea.

The main convoy comes from the M6 and onto the A14, stopping off at the little village of Ellington (you will spot it just before huntington from the west).

You could either drive up the M1 and join the A14 and park up in a layby and wait for us to join you, then convoy the rest of the way with us. Alternivately meet us all at Ellington and convoy the 5 min drive down to the track.

We usually stop off at Mac'D's on the way before Ellington on the A14 so if you wanted to join us you'd need go with option 1.

I hope this helps

I'd be up for making a weekend out of it. I live exactly in the middle of Huntingdon and Northampton so this area is my territory (and Dan The Man's! )! I go out in Northampton, and work in Huntingdon. There is NO comparison! If you're looking to go out, then go to Northampton. Huntingdon offers very little at all.

That's great that you're planning on doing this and a fantastic effort to do that and come all that distance.

I've just had a quick look on a map for you, and I think if you're staying in Northampton the easiest thing for you guys would be meet us at the MacD Scott mentioned (signed Rothwell Services) and head up the A508 to join the A14 (there's no acesss from the M1 onto the A14 unfortunately). It's the easiest route for you and also gives you a decent length convoy to the show.

Well back on topic then...
Thomas and myself have decided on heading to Northampton on the Saturday. Thomas knows where we will stay and the way there.
With the times we have looked at I guess we will be there by about 5pm or 6pm on the Saturday. Will be great to see some of the locals once we are there.

I've just confirmed with my brother that I'll head up there on the monday.

I know it's 4 months away but im already excited about it

Yep Looey, will probably be at the same place as last time, if Stevie approves it

And Stevie, i'm already looking forward to the trip as well, will be more fun than my last lonely journey up there

But a lot to be done to the ST so i'm gonna need the 4 months as i'm a slacker
