Hi all,

After owning a Leon Cupra for nearly 3 years now, with a short stint in an Octavia Estate in the middle, I decided it was time to get something cheaper to run. I drove my sister's Puma, I have also owned a 1.7 Puma in the past and loved it, and decided smaller and more fun was the way to go, but I couldn't find a Puma without any rust in the rear wings so I decided to look for a Fiesta ST.

I picked up a 2007 black ST without stripes in Dunfermline, as the price was better than the inflated prices the Aberdeen dealers want and thae car is very clean, so far im loving the car but im thinking of going down to 16" wheels to improve the ride on long motorway trips, something I have to do every second weekend, Aberdeen - Newcastle.

Can anyone clarify if an et of 38 is ok to use on the Fiesta, I know it will give the car a wider track that the 52.5 of the standard wheels, but will this not put extra load on the wheel bearings?

Thanks

Adam

mine are 17" 08 plate 15" wheels your have a considerable amount of space between the wheel arch, i can't imagen that looking aesthetically pleasing to the eye

I would of assumed larger wheels gave the comfortable ride?

Thanks for the welcome guys, I put the wheels from my mums mk7 Fiesta Titanium on to the ST tonight, and the extra 5mm in profile did wonders for the ride, it was still firm but just took the edge off the impact from bumps and ruts. The Titanium wheels are ET41.5 so an extra 11mm in track width but it does only have 195 section tyres so im sure the wider track wouldn't be too much of a problem.

Now to choose some new wheels!
