Hey everyone!

Ok, first post so here it goes.

I've just purchased a 2007 Fiesta with 38k on the clock in red. Really looking forward to picking it up on Tuesday evening so until I do that unfortunately I will have no pictures.

My past history of cars involves a Toyota Starlet 1.3l and my recently deceased 1999 Hyundai Coupe 2.0l (failed MOT due to a faulty cat and various brake issues). With this car I was a member of UKHCS, UKHCC and the newly created UKHCF (Hyundai Coupe members clubs) and had a fairly active approach getting involved slightly in site running, attending meets, etc.

Anyway, now is the time for me to move on from that and i'm hoping here is going to become my new home (if you guys will take me ).

Looking forward to getting the car and meeting some of you lot.

I'm from the Bury, nr Manchester area, any other members near me?

Also, i've already got my order in for site stickers so you lot better not be losers

kinobe ew

There we go, just done it now. What's the members section like, is there a lot of guides in there?

Looking forward to a nice unproductive day tomorrow at work browsing around.

If i'm going to be completely honest I do have one picture but it's what I took at the dealer just after I had purchased. I used my phone and it has the dodgy looking salesbloke sat in there so i'm going to keep you all waiting until I take better photos.

As far as i'm aware it looked all standard, didn't notice any extras on it but i'll have to have a proper look when I pick it up. Gave it a good long test drive but couldn't floor it as much as I wanted due to having my dad in the back seat keeping a watchful eye. Hehe.

Loving how cheap this is working out so far, £50 to up my insurance from the Hyundai, £3.50 for TWO site vinyls (who's making the loss on those?? Bargain of the century!).

Well, less than 24hrs now until the grand pick up!

Phoned Ford Insure today to get 7day free cover just so the dealer can tax the car on my behalf. After about 20mins answering many boring questions i'm informed that they are not willing to insure me. Great! Luckily they gave me a cover note though so the garage will still be able to tax. Good times!

Just joined ST-RS.co.uk.

Thanks (and thanks to everyone, lovely welcome!).

Yeah, it is an odd one, kinda looks bad on their part that they're telling me to phone their number to get insurance then they aren't willing to do it. I think the cover is underwritten by another company though and it was them who were being awkward.

Going to post up my first (real) thread now, hope to get some good help in there.

Hmm, the odd thing with that is my actual insurance is with Aviva which is by far the cheapest i've found. Really pleased with their service so far and they gave me an excellent quote on my Hyundai.

I think they mentioned "sun alliance" or something like that, can't remember the exact name and I know sun alliance isn't right.

What are "he-man dual controls?" - Driving instructor controls?
