Is there any way that the search time limitation can be made either shorter or removed entirely for registered (or paid up/donated?!) members. Surely the point in this function is to stop bots or general idiots over searching. Reason I ask is I am trying to search for things (being a new member) and when I realise i've made a spelling mistake/not searched for the right thing i'm unable to search again.

Yeah, I realise that's the point of it and it makes sense to have it in place. But if there was a way to distinguish between members that have registered and/or paid for membership and then give those people a quicker search function it would improve the site a lot.
And yeah, google seems the way to go at the moment which is a pity considering we're trying to build up a wealth of knowledge on here.
The search facility is the most important part of a forum I think.

If i change the code for this then our site bandwidth will fly through the roof. It's already over 22gb above my quota this month. It's going crazy. I'm trying to build up info on st-rs.co.uk as that is a much better site. The search functions are much more server friendly. It would be a great help if people would start to post technical things over there to build up a nice archive. I would use google to search as others have said... it makes life much easier. If you have any troble finding things then just let us know

Ok yep, with me being new i'm only throwing this suggestion out there as it was my immediate thought when using 'our' site. Apart from this everything seems spot on.
Is there no way to implement a google search function? I've seen other sites use google as a search facility, would work a treat and would prevent the need to leave the site, run a search, and return.

As an addition...to save opening new threads. I'm looking for two things in particular at the moment, the first is some kind of info on how to remove the 6006CDC stereo. I've bought a set of 4 keys from ebay, is it just a case of pushing them in until they click, then pulling? How easy is it to put the stereo back in if I do this?
Second thing is in the how to guide it mentions how to access the ST computer to see things such as revs, speed, etc. Hold button > start engine > see "test" on screen> bingo - I can't seem to get this to work however.
Help would be much appreciated.
Thanks in advance.

Question 1. Yes... get them all clicked in and then pull them... try to bend them outwards and pull in a vibrating movement. this should free it. Question 2. Hold the button and put your ignition on... then leave it a few seconds and start your engine. I'm sure i can do this on the ignition with my focus. Can an owner confirm this?

I done just as the guide said and it worked..

Right yeah, i've managed to get on the computer, I didn't realise that when it said "test" I had to tap the button again, I was under the assumption (wrongly) that I just held down the button and it entered the computer section. All good now.
I'll have a go with the radio tomorrow, i'm wanting to know what connectors are on the back unless someone has a picture. Can I buy a connector that gives me an aux mp3 input?
