Hey new here!!!

Looking to get a new car March time, the Ford Fiesta St but I dont know much about the car. What I mean is, what price would be average for an 07 plate? Is it worth buying from a dealer and are the cars reliable? Are any common problems on the car expensive to fix and can they be taken to an average garage or back to ford?

Ive got a smart car at the moment (all joking aside people :P ) and I've had no problems for 4 years...until this last month where repairs have cost me around £1000 - had to take it to the merc garage as your average garage have no idea how to fix.

Sorry for all the questions but Im keen to learn! Thanks for reading
Katy

Hi and welcome to the site. First thing is everyone seems to be selling and no one is buying so you can afford to be fussy and pick exactly what you want. Overall they are very reliable cars with very few common issues with them. When looking at them make sure the gearbox is smooth and precise and that both seat catches work properly.
You're more likely to get a better deal buying private and if there's one that takes you interest feel free to give us a link and we'll have a look. Overall I would think that they are a relatively cheap car to fix if something did go wrong. The actual body and equipment is similar to all the other mk6 fiesta's and the engine is from a mondeo so spares are still readily available.

Feel free to post up any more questions and enjoy the site

The prices of have dropped since around January time. If you are thinking of getting one it would be the best time. All you have to take into account is how many miles you are doing & insurance costs.

If you are doing hundreds a day, the buy a diesel and go onto go compare to get some insurance prices.

Ford servicing is comming down in price. I pay £22 pcm for three years get, three services, three MOT's, AA breakdown cover, 10% of parts on their site, courtsey car while i have any repairs done, so you can't go wrong

Hi Katy. Great choice of car. All I can do is echo what the guys have said above, and just to add that select a few to check out and definitely go for a test drive or two or three! It's also worthwhile, if you can, to look further afield as well as I found that s were lower in price the further up North I looked.
