I did say i drove like a granny and sometimes a boy racer

I've done since owning the car 1300 miles and spent nearly £400 on petrol.

i can't complain it's doing better then my GT-four of which i got 14mpg, over a month i'd spend £240.

generally about 30-35 and thats with a lot of motorway driving.
Mind you not exactly "fuel efficient" motorway driving if you get me

Getting 99.9 mpg, however briefly, is a big achievement.

My work van has a setting to put it on where it shows the MPG as your driving, so 22...20...18...15...12..etc Take foot off throttle and it also comes up with 99.9mpg!

Managed 45 mpg on the way home from work this evening, I was driving like a complete Granny though, didn't go over 50 mph!

Total journey was 20 miles, mostly on decentish A roads, and a few miles of town driving. I doubt I can keep it up though!

I dont see the point in buying this car if your going to drive at 50 everywhere...... may as well have brought something else....

thats no different than saying i might as well have bought a fast car rather than ragging around a little fiesta.

at the end of the day i would describe the fiesta as "nippy" i have a bike if i want speed, at the end of the day i was looking for an all rounder, a family car for me, wife and daughter + some shopping. it has to be fun to drive and a nice place to be in. and in this day and age of economy, it has to return reasonable mpg. i have a family to support and a house to renovate. i don't intend to drive at 50 everywhere, but i'm not going to be bouncing it the rev limiter thacking the hell out of it, especially with precious cargo lol

If your worried about fuel consumption don't get a fez Have you thought about the zs? 90% of the fun for a fraction of the cost.

It is possible to get good mpg by driving very carefully but the st will egg you on.
Most people get between 250-300 out of a tank. The fiesta will be better than the scobby as it weighs less. Doesn't waste as much energy through the awd system.

Even my focus will do 40+mpg but i had to sit behind a lorry to do it

Chris and Scottys top gear test

Mine Averages about 43ish if im being a nice driver
