Ive had a quick look and can't see if this has been done before. But I'm interested to find the 'real world' fuel figures. I think ford show it as 49mpg on a run.

How many miles do you usually get out of a full tank before the light comes on and what kind of driving style?

I currently gave a 2003 non turbo Subaru impreza. If I fill the tank to the brim £56 on average, I get about 240 miles before the light comes back on, I have to drive like an old lady to get it this good. If I put my foot down I get closer to 190 miles. Bearing in mind the scooby is 130bhp AWD non turbo. I really need the fiesta to improve on this if I am to buy one!!!

You are realistically looking at between 20 - 32mpg if you are doing short journeys and up to 40+mpg but i don't know how Lozzy got that

I get between 200 - 250 miles per tank and it cost me about £52 to fill up, my worst was 170 but i had my foot down most of the time

If your worried about fuel consumption don't get a fez Have you thought about the zs? 90% of the fun for a fraction of the cost.

It is possible to get good mpg by driving very carefully but the st will egg you on.
Most people get between 250-300 out of a tank. The fiesta will be better than the scobby as it weighs less. Doesn't waste as much energy through the awd system.

Even my focus will do 40+mpg but i had to sit behind a lorry to do it

This is disappointing if I'm honest. It looks like the fiesta will be no better than my scooby

Fords figures look like they are purely fiction!!!

Most figures by all companys are done in a lab not the real world. so always take them with a pinch of salt

In my ZS I normally do 130kmh (80mph) on the motorway and get about 35.7mpg.
For the last tank I did 100-110kmh (62-68mph) on the motorway and I got 42.7mpg
If I went even slower and stayed behind truck I reckon I could get that even higher.

If I'm honest, although ford quote 49mpg I was expecting 40mpg which equates to around 360 miles to a tank!!! I drove from caernarfon to Lowestoft a few days ago and got 315 miles out of the scoody 34mpg. But it was speed limits at all times and no hard driving.

I will say, my driving style is probably a lot different from most of you guys. I usually my little girl in the car and drive like an old fart lol (well I am almost 40) I save the speed for on the bike!!!

If your driving carefully on the motorway there's nothing stopping you from getting close to 50. If I'm driving carefully I can get 39mpg even over short distances but that is driving as economically as possible.
