I did say i drove like a granny and sometimes a boy racer I've done since owning the car 1300 miles and spent nearly £400 on petrol. i can't complain it's doing better then my GT-four of which i got 14mpg, over a month i'd spend £240.

Managed 45 mpg on the way home from work this evening, I was driving like a complete Granny though, didn't go over 50 mph!
Total journey was 20 miles, mostly on decentish A roads, and a few miles of town driving. I doubt I can keep it up though!

thats no different than saying i might as well have bought a fast car rather than ragging around a little fiesta.
at the end of the day i would describe the fiesta as "nippy" i have a bike if i want speed, at the end of the day i was looking for an all rounder, a family car for me, wife and daughter + some shopping. it has to be fun to drive and a nice place to be in. and in this day and age of economy, it has to return reasonable mpg. i have a family to support and a house to renovate. i don't intend to drive at 50 everywhere, but i'm not going to be bouncing it the rev limiter thacking the hell out of it, especially with precious cargo lol
