Hi

My headunit refuses to play CDR's with RealPlayer files that have been burned to disc using Windows Media Player.

Is this a common thing or is it more likely ny headunit playing up?

as far as i know they wont play, the new sony head unit will play them

your head unit is fine by the way

They will play mp3 files burnt onto a cd-r disc

lots of people have had CDRs stuck in their stereos and yes Kenny it does say dont use them

Yea don't use them, they get stuck

I played them fine for a while but was going to be changing the headunit anyway so wasn't too worried

I did get a normal CD stuck though, took ages to get it out

It's one of those things that some people have had problems in the past, and some people haven't - luck as much as anything. As has been said, the manual does say that it's not advised to put cd-r's/cd-rw's in, but some of this is down to any labels stuck on them potentially getting stuck as much as anything.

In the last year of the ST's production Ford replaced the stereo with a Sony one which only had one cd slot, but could read mp3 cd'd with hundreds of traccs on.

any CD gets stuck in mine- just have to press eject then give it a whack just above the volume knob and the CD comes straight out
