well compared to what tyres were on the car when i bought it, YES
They were Nankang something or other, dreadful in the wet so they would have been awful in the winter
so from the beginning i said i was gonna get some new wheels and tyres after last winter, so decided to use the standard zs wheels as winter tyres.
Even though i have good tyres now, uniroyals, winter tyres will still be much better in the cold and snow
Quote:
Snow tires are usually tires with a different rubber composition from all-weather tires. Cold-weather tires include a greater percentage of natural rubber and silica so there is not as much hardening as found in synthetic rubber in cold conditions:[2] they provide better traction at lower temperatures. Snow tires provide more small-tread areas, increasing traction on snow and, in wet conditions, allowing water to escape from under the tire more easily. This reduces the risk of hydroplaning.
