Ok so I want an but screw it I love my soooooo much and cannot part with it lol!
I think it's down to how little I go out driving anyway because lets face it I relax with a beer at home after work so I'm not going out cruising like a 17 year old So that's why I was probably fancying a change at first
I drove to Basingstoke last night and it was fabulous on the A roads. It felt nice to open it up as I do 5 min town driving everyday and a really nice Jaguar Coupé even got over out of my way on the dual part
SO ANYWAY In order to be happy forever I need to find a decent car sound proofing company. As between 50mph and 70mph there is a loud *humm* and it can get annoying now and again. It's coming from the manifold which is the larger milltek system so if anyone else has it they will know what I mean. It's loud like a touring car sometimes lol
Anyone know of any professional interior companies in the south?

Many thanks

Andrew

good topic this... main reason I haven't changed the manifold is because of the sound everyone says it makes, and I do a lot of motorway miles so can't justify it really.
If you find somewhere though may have no excuse haha!

Im assuming the sound proofing used in boot intalls won't be sufficient due the noise coming from outside the car

Although it may be worth a look anyway, DYNAMAT was used in my Mini install

Wrap the manifold in heat tape should help deaden the sound a bit
Have you got a bonnet soundproofer like steves?
Sound proofed inside the doors and rear quarters with dynamat

The dash will be the hardest bit

do the bonett with some edead and then stick the soundproofer cover on, most sound is from outside and through bulkhead so unless your going to take the dash out and do what you can behind there. Only other areas would be inside doors and under the footwells.

make some aerodynamic parts that take the sound of the exhaust away from the car

Adam - yeah I've already got my manifold ceramic coated and got the bonnet sound proofer the same as Steve's Yeah the dash is going to be hard

Steve - the thing is I'm worried if I do other parts I will just be keeping the sound in lol as it's coming from behind the stereo and travelling down the middle of the car

Might need to get the stereo out

Was thinking of the heat wrap as it would deaden the sound rather than just keeping the heat in though

The engine bay Bulk Head and exhaust Tunnel, needs sound proofing Andrew.

This needs to be the propper fireproof stuff. I had it fitted to a car years ago that did the job, but foregot who by, sorry, but gives you a start.
