No idea what it will cost to sort - T-Cut won't shift it though as it's too deep

It didn't happen somewhere where anyone who knew me would expect to find it. Totally random, pointless attack. There must have been two or three spaces empty either side of me in the car park so whichever t**t did it must have been in full view of a lot of people in broad daylight!

Just brainless idiots and usually it's the young kids without cars and they don't realise how much it pisses people off and the money it costs to repair.

I'm really sorry to see this Lee. I know how much pride you take in your car. With the state of the country at the moment it is just going to get worse.

A random, stupid and pathetic attach. Just like they did with destroying my wing mirror.

I think it will cost around £300 for a bodyshop to fix that Lee. A guestimate from what i've seen in the past.

My Mum said I'd taken it well at the time so I expected to be quite calm when I woke up. However I think I'm actually even more angry about it this morning!

The realisation of what it will cost and the fact some other purchases I'd planned will now have to wait

If it is £300 I might have to fork that out myself rather than get insurance involved due to excess

I'd say any repairs under 1000 aren't worth going through insurers. You just end up paying tenfold on premiums.

I know a guy who works at a local Toyota dealership and he reckons the firm he's told me about do a better job than their own body shop and that they did a really good job on his Prius recently.

Anyway been to get a quote from them and they said £240 inc VAT. Also asked about my plastics while I'm there but that would be quite pricey, though I'd imagine they'd do a quality job

A total total respray is going to be £2000-3000? If you were going another colour as inside doors etc would have to be done, same colour I'm not sure £1000-1500?

Kenny is having his done

Only a guestimate

You unfortunately won't get much done for £500 3 panels?

Dont go through insurance! If anything save the money and just leave the scratch until you got enough! I know its ugly to look at but the car still runs fine!

so how much can a full detail do in terms of correction?
i.e. obviously this massive scrape on the side will need respraying but what about the stone chips on my bonnet, light scratches on the roof etc?
blimey didn't realise it was that much is that even if it is the same colour?

For a full detail done expertly £200-300
Don't know if that would include stone chips tho

As you say the scratch would need to be sprayed

you could always do the detailing yourself matey and then charge your mates and get your money back hehe. i doubt stone chips removal would be included in the price of a detail.

well guessing im gonna have to pay couple of hundred if not more on the side skirt and door then, might look into getting the bonnet done at the same time- can live with the light scratches on the rest of the car

Full respray I'm paying between £600 to £900 but I'm getting a discount as he has just started up and I'm also getting another discount as I'm a rsoc member so for a full respray you got to be looking at £1000 plus

Went ahead and booked my car in for next Monday. I have to ring him by the end of the week to let him know if I want my plastics doing as well

I know it's much cheaper to do them yourself but I have considered the fact I am short on time at the moment due to work and my degree and the fact I am not the most technical person in the world. Also, I'm fairly sure I wouldn't do close to a good job so might just get them done while I'm having the scratch fixed

how much extra is it?
Some real twats in this world aren't there such a waste of money just because some bell end has no respect for other peoples property
And the fact that there is nothing you can do about it makes it even more irritating
getting angry just writing this!

Might be an extra couple of hundred for all my plastics. Pricey, but ensures I have them done in time for FITP and to a quality standard! (I'm trying to convince myself here... )

haha well up to you mate. seems a bit pricey when you can do a pretty decent job for £50 odd with a little bit of spare time

Then again you did pay to have your K&N fitted

Well my car has now been repaired. Very good work in my opinion. Will put a pic up when I can.

But, just as good news is that I've had my plastics done to match the car . They look fantastic! I can't get over how much they change the appearance of the car Even had round the wing mirrors and that little triangle done, along with the plastic strip between the windows. Forgot to ask for the washer jets though but can do them myself. Will get some pics up of all those asap!

Mines not been on the road since December. It's still SORN. 4 months now. I shall be taxing it on 1st of April to get it ready for FITP.

£250 isn't too bad Lee. Not a bad estimate off me I think. It still sucks to think you had to pay it for no reason.

If it helps I had to pay £250 for a new alloy on the after a pot hole killed it.

One of the heads of o2 lives not to far from me and he has a veyron. He left it parked somewhere and someone keyed it but because no in this country would touch it he had to send it back to vw to get it sorted. Cost him about £60,000 in all for it

some people just dont care mate, its the way we live in these days. I have to park my ST at the other end of the car park at work, take the misses's civic to the shops cos each time we take mine something damages it.

It's the nature of some people these days. My ZS was keyed a few months before I bought my , and it was nothing special in comparison.

The 'keying' was £200 + VAT. If you want to know what I paid for the plastics, PM me - I will get called a fool for paying it on here

I know how you feel lee, 2 years ago i was coming home from work when a lorry flicked up a massive stone and it hit my bonet and my window screen.

it cost me £200+ to get the bonet re shaped and re sprayed, i still havent replaced the windowscreen because its not deep enough to break the glass.

Then a few months later some kid goes along side my passanger side on a bike, scratches all the side passanger door with his handlebars.

I didnt notice untill the next day and by then i couldnt prove he did it but i had a gut feeling he did since i was vacing my dads car out and he was going past, stopped for a second and carried on.

That cost me another £200+ to get that repaired and now i got more stone marks and marks from peoples car doors.

2 dents on passanger side wheel arch and a stone chip on my newly resprayed bonet.

When i get my st ill be watching the paintwork like a hawk.

Someone scratched/engraved the spokes on all of my dad's Audi A3 earlier in the week, when he was away on hol. Luckily a friend sorted it for me the next day, otherwise he would've had my head, as the car is kept immaculate. Still left me outta pocket
