Hello everyone,
My name is chris im 23 from norwich. Owned my fiesta just over a year now.

mods are as listed
K&N 57I, Miltek Manifold, De-cat, Cat back, 60mm throttle body, pumaspeed 180 map, magnecor leads, AP coilovers, EBC disc, red stuff pads, sparco strut brace.

One main reason i joined forum is to seek advice with my car. I recently had a Dyno run at a tuning place local to me http://www.ap-tuning.co.uk/ the power figures came out at 156.7BHP to the flywheel which in my opinion is very low for the mods i have. Has anyone else had similar problems? Could it be there rolling road which has caused the low BHP? Or have i just got a under powered car?

Will post pics of car soon.

Regards
chris

hi and welcome.

theres loads of info on the site and you can become a full member and have full access for life with a £5 joining fee.

not too sure on your problem though as i dont understand alot of stuff regaurding power at flywheel and power at wheels etc as there is a difference.

i have a k&N and a miltek flexi and got 158.8 BHP. not sure if that was at the wheels or flywheel though.

welcome along, usually measured at the flywheel and then you loose shed loads through the transmission/wheels. Guess yours around 165/170 at the fly, so if that is at the wheels then you must be making Big power at the fly, so those figures can't be right.
Sign up proper and access all the secret areas.

Welcome Chris that is one very Blue ST you have there looks darker than most, must just be the lighting or summet!

That definitely sounds wrong dude, BHP is always higher at the flywheel than at the wheels because of the loss of power though the wheels gearbox etc.

So if its 156 at the flywheel that means its less than it would be standard lol.

the only problem you might have is the pumaspeed map... they have been renowned for not getting anywhere near the power they say they should

i have exactly the same mods as you but no map and got 173bhp

The power reading was to the fly wheel, so to the wheels it self is about 123 roughly. I had a power run with the same rollers before the pumaspeed map, de-cat and 60mm throttle body. It came out at 145.7 BHP to the flywheel and to the wheels 119. As you can guess i was not a happy bunny, they said it was due to the car running rich.
So contacted pumaspeed and got it mapped, so in one aspect the extra mods have proven to boost performance. To be honest i believe the rollers are wrong as i can hold my own against most hot hatches in my class Civic type R's dont like me

Maybe a trip to Jamsport is in order only problem will be me trying to sneek off with a supercharger while im there

Will now be signing up as full member.

Is the st 150 standard at the fly or wheels. I always thought wheels Soo 119 would mean there's a major problem

I'm unsure myself, i have always guessed that every car from the production line was power ran to the Flywheel.. Will start my research today!

BHP figures are always measured from the fly guys never the wheels!

so how can a garage be certain of bhp at the fly if they take the reading from the wheels.

I think they can work it out by looking at how long the wheels take to stop spinning due to engine resistance... I think

they boot it upto the red line then let off and allow the wheels to slow down naturally, this tells them how much resistance there is in the drive shafts and through the wheels and the machine works out the BHP at the fly by a calculation
