I was talking to somebody about the ST and he was convinced that Ford will give free insurance on the ST.I said i doubt it very much because it is a performance car,Can anyone back me up on this one ? Ford only seem to give away free insurance on their basic cars.

The Fiesta ST will be quite a high group and i cant see them giving free insurance, dont think they ever did this on the Focus!?

Maybe a Fiesta Flight lol but not a 150bhp ST unless ur 50yrs old.

Actually they did free insurance on the ST170, probably because it was a pretty high group for what it was and normally put people off buying them (plus with its poor performance and great handling it was virtually impossible to crash anyway )
So, it did wonders for sales but a lot were traded in about a year later!

Free insurance is an incentive. It is done as an alternative to reducing the price of the car and is done as a short term effort when they are not shifting as many as they need/want to. It will definitely not be offered in the early stages of the vehicles release and I doubt it will be offered at all.

Ford don't seem to be offering insurance deals as much as they used to. Maybe they got stung by the costs.

It makes me wonder how much it does actually cost. When I bought my ST170 I had no years no claims, a bump in the last year, and 6 points. Under normal circumstances on a group 15 car it would easily cost well over £2000. However, no questions like that were asked and they only knew about my points (as they looked at my license, assuming they cared anyway). I made no claims in the time I the car, and hard to see how anyone really lost any money at all! (insurance wise that is...)

The only reason i have my fiesta is because it came with 2 years free insurance, and that was available to people aged 18 and over not just 21. ah the good old days...
