No mate, completely standard.

Doubt ill be doing any performance modifications to it as ill soon have a track car which my spare money will be getting thrown into. But don't hold me to it

So, how do you even post on these forums mate? Need a bit of help with getting rid of the god awful cd player what is in the car.

Good stuff!

Only been here a hour and already considering a K&N induction kit... Do they actually help give a slightly better MPG? I do 250+ miles a week so even the slightest help with MPG is nice.

I know on my old civic the K&N induction kit what was on it when i bought it raped the MPG, that was soon took off.

welcome along for the ride.
Nowt wrong with the CD player, very good quality sound and loud, you could upgrade it to the later Sony version fitted in later cars, I didn't get that but mine is great and won't attract any attention.

There are many different stories to if the K+N helps. Personally I think it's psycological. You press the "go" pedal to listen to the engine. The K+N makes you hear the engine more with less "go" pedal. This is my theory on why people get more MPG. Others will argue airflow etc... but more air = more mix = richer fuel and more used... so the debate goes on... I still stick to my story. On the plus side you get a smidge more BHP and a very nice sounding car.

Anyway...

To save even more fuel... DON'T PRESS your "go" pedal down very hard and never go past 2,000rpm. Change from 1st to 3rd to 5th when possible (not in traffic). You'll be able to get another 40-50miles per tank doing this... try it.

Not to sound funny but i find the sound quite disappointing compared to my old 98 civic what had standard speakers. Will be putting my old head unit in the ST once i know whats what and see how that is with the standard ST speakers.

Plus i could do with the DVD player for when were on long journeys and the young one wants his cartoon DVD's on.

Scotty, i have always been a bit skeptical about Air filters. As i say my old civic went from 26ish to 35MPG once i removed the air filter which was on that. O about the 1st to 3rd to 5th, ive always drove like a taxi driver! I need to lol.

Thanks for warm welcome guys, really appreciated!

My MPG went up after taking the K&N off my ST. BUT it's most likely due to heavy foot syndrome wanting to hear the noise past 3k....the STs sound fantastic with air filters on them.

P.S Welcome to the club!

+1

You have to change gear like a rally driver, rapid. I find it hard to keep it below 3000rmp but i love the sound

Most likely because I slowed down and evened out the revs...plus I got a full service and then never put it back on. Probably would have played a massive part in the increase

I have to mention that when I drive the i barely get 240miles out of the 11 gallon tank.

Due to it only taking 97+ this is around £75 to fill up. I can't help but stick my foot down to get the turbo spinning... what a feeling!

I understand you guys with the K+N noise.

not certain but as far as I know these should not be activated whilst the car is moving.

The key words being "should not"
Most people set them up so they can be
Believe Scotty has a switch on his to turn it on and off

I don't actually know one person who as there dvd player hooked up to there handbrake.

Plus i find a 5 year old whinging all the way on a long journey a LOT more distracting than a 7" dvd player being on.

I couldn't confirm or deny my DVD fitment.

Lets just say I have a special hidden button that turns the DVD display off and switches it to Audio with normal menu if any plod come.
