Hey guys, I've got a 3dr 1.6 Zetec with just over 9000 miles on it. It started making a noise that sounded like a slipping fan belt so I took it to my local dealer. They told me that it's the water pump, and that apparently mine is the third Fiesta that they've found with a faulty pump since the launch in January this year.

Have you guys heard of, or experienced any such problems on the Fiestas?

I've not heard of anything as yet, however keep your eye out for a recall or get intouch with customer services.

Have you had it fixed already? assume if you have it was under warranty?

Yea, they ordered the part and told me I can have it replaced this coming Monday under waranty.

Just won't be traveling too much over the weekend then, don't want to risk it packing up on me while I'm in the middle of no-where .

If there is any further news I'll let you guys know.

My friends 1.6 has done 20k+ trouble free miles an d my boss's one has been ok thus far.

Dont worry m8... iv took my car back about 100times... whilst its under warantee if i hear and noise or notice anything i just take it straight in for them to sort... not having a broken car after warrantee finished... if u notice anything else just book it in!

I'm with you there 100% m8, as long as the warranty's still valid they'll have their hands full...
