great guide there Kev, what does it do when you switch the sidelights on?

When you turn on your lights at night it will light the LED's up as you can see each side of the normal lights. That red 'glow' will bathe the area around the gearshift and front seats in a soft red light. (thats what I hope it'll do anyway)

ic. Might be interesting make sure to post some pics up Stevie I think we have the same interior light unit. I've got two standard connections at the back of that and it's a 501 not a festoon

yeah, but we're only talking live and earth wires here, just get some larger spades that fit the connectors for the map readers and a bit of wire and split off of your exiting wiring... simple

Ask one of the mods to do it for you, I'm sure they won't have a problem with it

That's a very useful post you've just putten up there and I'll create a How-To in a minute.

Thanks for doing that Chris!

I've tried to take some night pics, but capturing low level red light with a crappy BB camera has proved pretty much impossible sorry

heres what I have so far which look crap..

The effect is really subtle, these pictures dont do it any justice at all. I maysee if I can use better camera from somewhere

Kev, assuming the one you spliced into was the live feed of the sidelights, did you manage to find which of the wires is the earthing?
